Salsa Malagueta

Salsa Malagueta formerly known as Saúde à Mesa, has been a Palmas food institution for over a decade, renowned for its authentic North and Northeastern flavors. Under the guidance of Cecília Matos, the restaurant has blossomed into a vibrant hub of community, culinary excellence, and music. To capture this essence, architect and interior designer Bárbara Negreiros and I embarked on a collaborative journey to reflect this new chapter for Cecília's enterprise.

Roles
• Brand Strategist
• Namer
• Visual Designer
• Graphic Designer
Achievements
The primary challenge was to devise a name that captured the restaurant's well-established positive attributes while simultaneously embodying its new strategic direction and positioning.
Salsa translates as parsley, and Malagueta as chili pepper. This name succinctly conveys the restaurant's core essence – bold and fresh flavors, regionality, energy, and joy – while also possessing a captivating musical rhythm.
The slogan effectively ensures that this essence resonates with all audiences. The carefully selected colors – initially for interior paint and subsequently for digital and print applications – and the accompanying illustrations have successfully expanded the possibilities of graphic expression, paving the way for enhanced culinary experiences.
Growth
My ongoing appreciation for collaborating with architects was evident in this project. Strategic discussions with Bárbara proved beneficial, as we were in perfect sync to address Cecília's needs and create an integrated experience for her clientele. As a food enthusiast myself, I was delighted to work with a client in the food and hospitality industry. Additionally, this project provided a valuable learning experience, as I was entrusted with the responsibility of handling Cecília's trademark registration process.
